Where are you based?
Border Auslan Support is based in Albury-Wodonga, servicing the border community and surrounding areas.
Can you travel for support?
This depends on your NDIS plan and whether transport/travel is funded in your plan. Border Auslan Support will charge provider travel, kms and activity based transport in line with the NDIS pricing arrangements.
How many support workers are employed?
Border Auslan Support is a sole-trader business. There is only one support worker, Angus Penney, who provides all support services offered by Border Auslan Support.
What are your qualification?
Angus has attained Certificate IV in Auslan and a Bachelor of Education (K-12). Angus is not yet a certified NAATI-interpreter but plans to pursue this in the future.
Is Border Auslan Support a Deaf-run business?
No, Border Auslan Support is run by Angus Penney who is a hearing person. Angus is a Deaf ally and Auslan user who regularly connects with the Deaf community.
Can anyone book supports?
Any NDIS participants can book support services from Border Auslan Support. You can book a free initial consultation to discuss whether Border Auslan Support is a good match for your needs. New clients must submit a ‘New Client Form’ prior to booking support.
Do you offer Auslan lessons?
No, Border Auslan Support does not offer Auslan lessons.
There is not much availability for the days I need support on the booking calendar. Why?
Angus provides ongoing supports to participants and also works part-time as a primary school teacher. Bookings are availabile outside of these times via the bookings page. Please contact via email to discuss alternative days or times.
Can I book a support time that is not on the calendar?
Angus is very flexible and may be able to move things around to fit your preferred support time. Please contact via email to discuss alternative days or times.
How do I cancel a booking?
After booking, you will receive an email from Acuity Scheduling with your booking link. You can change or cancel your appointment by following the link.
